About the Tutor:
My name is Danielle Yu and am currently a junior at Hunter College City University majoring in Chinese Linguistics. I have four years of experience in both tutoring and child care. I have worked with children aged from infants to thirteen years old. I have flexible hours both on evenings and weekends. I am also available to travel for the private lessons.
Why I love teaching and being with children?
I find great joy working with kids. I am very easy going and I always keep an open mind, leaving room to grow with the kids. Working with children has helped me become more patient and tolerant. It is extremely important to show the children that you are here to help them as well as giving them the space and time for them to absorb all that information. The key to successful teaching is when everyone is having fun while learning by intertwining education with games and music. When there is no pressure, the willingness to grow together becomes stronger.
It's to the benefit of both the parent and the child to start learning at a young age. Their brains are more active and they are eager to explore their surroundings. Children learn based on repetition and familiarity.
